The research work was directed to explore the use fenugreek gum as a novel carrier for colonic delivery system and the treatment of colon disorders like irritable bowl syndrome,inflammatory bowl disease, colon cancer using Diclofenac Sodium (model drug) embedded in the matrix core of fenugreek gum. The natural polymers develpment is an emerging area for research. A lot of research has been conducted to explore natural gums as drug delivery carrier, but the gum presented in the book is novel one.
