Arthroscopy has becomes an acceptable method for the diagnosis and treatment of Temporomandibular Joint Disorders in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. its accuracy in diagnosing with added advantage of simutaneous biopsy of target area with minor complication. Also application of surgical lasers to the TMJ has extended the possibilities for arthroscopic surgery with good short term results and is cost effective too.
