📖 Bill the Conqueror

When Bill West of New York falls in love with the statuesque Alice Coker, his promise to look after her dissipated brother Judson has unexpected results. With Judson under his wing, Bill makes for London where he meets Flick Sheridan who, unknown to him, has been in love with Bill for years. But Flick is already promised to the unsatisfactory Roderick Pyke, under pressure from Roderick’s uncle, bullying press magnate Sir George Pyke, while Roderick himself really loves someone else. All is happily resolved in the end, but only after Judson escapes on a monumental bender, Bill and Flick are chased across country in a car by Sir George, Alice breaks the engagement, and Judson decides to give up drink.
