The book deals with a numerical study on the innovative shear connectors being developed in Germany known as Compostie Dowels, mainly used for pre-cast structures for Railway Bridges, due to their high load bearing capacity. An experimental study is chosen for the numerical simulation in ANSYS Software and the results have been compared and discussed. These shear connectors can be made of different shapes and sizes, each providing different load bearing capacity. The additional reinforcement in the concrete beams or girders can be avoided due to their presence.
