Among all the physico-chemical parameters studied, in all the study stations, it can be inferred that the station-IV can be considered as slightly polluted station. This station receives the wastes from agriculture runoff and domestic waste. The encroachment of the lake for agriculture purposes has lead the station-IV to get contaminated. All the other stations have showed the parameters, that are within the permissible limits. Almost all the parameters have showed a relationship among each other some of the relationship coefficients were significant to the statistical test at 5% level and the remaining parameters did not show any significance to the correlation coefficient. Among all the stations, the station-IV was found to be polluted if plankton density is considered. The water from the other stations can be used for the agriculture and domestic purposes by adapting the suitable measures so that the status of the lake could be restored.
