📖 Export of Carpets from Eastern U. P.. Carpet Industry in India.

This study entitled as ‘Export of carpets from Eastern U.P: a case study’ is an attempt to address to one of the most crucial concerns of eastern Uttar Pradesh, particularly that of Mirzapur- Bhadohi-Varanasi districts. The study focuses on the decline and fall of once famed and pampered carpet industry of this region. It essentially represents an attempt at knowing the what and how of carpets in India and abroad; knowing in detail the carpet industry of eastern Uttar Pradesh i.e. the carpet belt of India, its problems and challenges, about what went wrong in recent past in this carpet belt and finally about the possibility of rejuvenation of this industry. In short, the study represents a detailed case report of the export- oriented carpet industry of eastern Uttar Pradesh.
