Female teachers have great potential in influencing the girl child to engage in sports and physical activity. However, in my involvement in sports management for 12 years at secondary school level, it is amazing to note that the female teachers in my county have been very reluctant to take management roles in sports even when the support structures are in place to ensure that they engage without any discrimination. This prompted this research.
