📖 Hybrid Semiconductor Fiber Lasers for Telecommunications. A new platform for integration of photonic and semiconductor circuits.

This book introduces a new platform for coupling between fibers and semiconductor devices. The operation principle and advantages of this hybrid coupling method is thoroughly explained and several device types that can benefit from this technology like lasers, amplifiers, and detectors are presented. The hybrid laser in particular is very attractive for telecommunications applications, where the light quality and cost are very important. Some suggestions for future work are also presented at the end.
