📖 Marker Assisted Selection. A tool for developing QPM Hybrids.

This book provides the application of DNA markers in the breeding process. Applying markers in a creative manner, new traits like opaque-2 in maize can be introduced which either could not or only be obtained with great difficulty by classical breeding. This book also provides the basic knowledge about genetic diversity, foreground selection and background selection. Therefore, the application of markers in breeding can create a major competitive advantage to developing new hybrids in maize.
