📖 Monitoring of Flexible endoscope reprocessing at university hospitals. Infection control procedures: Safe care.

The main cause of endoscopy-associated infections is failure to adhere to reprocessing guidelines. Thus it is essential that all these steps are performed according to a strict protocol. This work aimed to prevent infection transmission by in patient ready flexible endoscopes via the following steps: 1.Assessment of healthcare providers' knowledge about endoscope reprocessing, 2.Assessment of healthcare providers' compliance to national guidelines, 3. Protein assay to monitor cleaning process and 4.microbiological diagnosis of different endoscopes after storage and before use.
