📖 Plants as Cosmeceuticals. Alternative treatment for acne and melasma.

The use of plant extracts in cosmetics is fast gaining importance due to the ever increasing side effects of synthetic drugs. The growing resistance to antibiotics in microorganisms has also further merited investigation for alternative treatment methods. Plants have been utilized for their medicinal values since time immemorial. This publications details the efforts undertaken to study the possible cosmeceutical application of three plants - Galangal, Chamomile and Tea tree - in the treatment of acne and hyperpigmentation.
