📖 The Use of Proverbs in African Literature. Case Study of Wole Soyinka.

This book is a research on proverbs as a literary element. While focusing on the proverbs in A Dance of the Forests by Nobel Prize author Wole Soyinka, the book provides general information about proverbs. This goes from the definition of proverbs to their function, as well as how to use them. It also covers some literary components of proverbs and how some people manipulate proverbs to mean something different from their original meaning. More importantly, this literary work explains the proverbs in A Dance of the Forests in details while providing some of their equivalents in Yoruba language. Proverbs in other novels have also been addressed.
